Minecraft 1.21.120.23 Beta - the test version is now available on Android — and it's not just another update, but a real boost to your adventures! Mojang continues to amaze — just a week before the big Minecraft Live event, players received 15 bug fixes and numerous technical improvements.
Recent Improvements and Fixes
- Personalize your world like never before: the unique name given to the Copper Golem remains even after it turns into a statue and is revived. Create heroes that truly stand out!
- The crafting of Copper Trapdoors is now fairer — the previous bug with extra items has been fixed, ensuring your resources are used efficiently.
- Windows users regained full support for file associations (e.g., .mcaddon). Installing mods and add-ons is now easier and faster.
- Buttons no longer respond to accidental clicks if the game window is minimized or inactive. Fewer accidental errors — more control!
- When the game is paused, unwanted mouse movement disappears. Managing the process is much more comfortable, especially when playing on PC.
- Graphics are more pleasant: the brightness of water in caves has been reduced, and biome transitions have been adjusted to make underground locations visually realistic and appealing.
- The issue of the «black sky» on some Android devices is a thing of the past — visual bugs no longer ruin the adventure atmosphere.
- Working with quick access to items has become easier — use hotkeys to move items to the bar and manage your inventory instantly.
- Balance in sea adventures: Drowned no longer drop the Trident when collecting Nautilus shells, resulting in fairer loot and a cleaner inventory.
- If you were bothered by overly loud or quiet parrot sounds (which mimic monsters), a separate adjustment is now available — you decide how much noise will be in your base!
- Audio options have been expanded: support for working with gamepads and keyboards is now more stable, making the game easier for everyone, especially those who value accessibility.
- The interface is livelier: the character's mini-image in the inventory now always follows the cursor movement — a small but cool detail.
- New effect toggles have been added to the accessibility menu — your experience is now more personalized and user-friendly, regardless of your gaming preferences.
As for my opinion, this update left mixed feelings. Finally, the custom name of the Copper Golem is preserved when it turns into a statue and back — a small but very pleasant touch for those who love to personalize their world. Moreover, the visual improvements, especially the dimming of light in underwater caves, make exploring the depths more atmospheric. I literally spent several hours just swimming and enjoying how mysterious and beautiful it looks.
On the other hand, not everything is smooth in Minecraft 1.21.120.23 Beta. Although the developers fixed many bugs, I encountered some annoying moments. For example, the issue with crafting Copper Trapdoors, where an extra item was created, was resolved, but I still occasionally notice minor interface lags when working with the inventory on a gamepad. It also raises questions that the improved biome blending does not yet affect water rendering, which slightly breaks the overall immersion. I hope these rough edges will be polished in future patches.
Technical Innovations
Modders and testers will surely appreciate 29 new features for add-on development and content testing. Block formatting tools have been updated, biome customization options expanded, and support for new file types added — all of this opens new horizons for creativity and community growth!
