Minecraft 1.21.123.02

(full version)

Minecraft 1.21.123.02 – is another full game release aimed at fixing issues found in the previous 1.21.120 build. The developers are rolling out the update gradually across all platforms, so it may not appear for you right away. Please be patient while the patch reaches your device.

The Mojang team separately thanked Windows players for their active feedback and bug reports. The developers assured that they carefully review all reports and continue to work on game quality. They promise to share further improvements in upcoming changelogs and encourage you to keep submitting bug reports on the official site bugs.mojang.com.

Known issue

Despite the work done, one known bug may still cause inconvenience.

  • The mouse cursor moves in the background during gameplay. The dev team thanks players for their patience while the fix arrives. Although the issue is resolved for many users, work continues. They are actively seeking a solution for remaining cases and aim to fully eliminate this bug as soon as possible.

Main fixes in 1.21.123

This version focuses on overall stability and removing issues that hindered comfortable play. In short: reduced memory usage with the «Improved Input Latency» option enabled, several causes of unexpected crashes during your adventures have been fixed, and a specific crash tied to using the stonecutter via hotkeys in the preview area has been resolved.

  • Reduced memory usage: Fixed an issue where the «Improved Input Latency» feature led to increased RAM consumption. The game should now run more stably on resource-limited devices.
  • General crashes fixed: Addressed several bugs that could cause the game to close unexpectedly during gameplay.
  • Stonecutter crash fixed: Resolved a bug where the game crashed when using hotkeys on the quick access bar while the cursor was over the stonecutter preview UI.

Improved graphics

In this update, the developers tackled visual bugs seriously, with pleasantly surprising results. The main issue in previous versions — pink squares appearing instead of normal textures — is now almost entirely gone. On Android devices, it was especially annoying when half the world suddenly turned into colorful “pixel art,” and builds lost detail and looked like abstract shapes. With 1.21.123.02, even on a mid-range phone most locations load correctly: blocks look natural, with familiar colors and crisp edges, and the landscapes are pleasing again.

The lighting also helps — whereas shadows used to behave oddly, now day-night transitions are smoother, water flickers less, and leafy trees don’t lose transparency. Of course, minor quirks remain: very rarely you may notice small artifacts when moving quickly through the world, or brief “freezes” while generating new chunks. Sometimes, in certain custom worlds, I saw a strangely colored texture flash in the distance once or twice, but that’s the exception rather than the rule.

Verdict

Do I recommend updating on Android? Definitely — yes. Even on an older phone, the game feels nicer and more stable. If you play with a mouse and the cursor bug persists — you can write to support, but for most users Minecraft 1.21.123.02 will only be a plus. Great work by the Mojang team!
