Minecraft 1.26.0.27 Beta

Minecraft 1.26.0.27 Beta - a new test version for Android has been released, and I’ve already had a chance to try it out. Let me say right away: the update is packed with features. The developers added a long-awaited function, made numerous changes, and fixed a total of 45 bugs! Let’s dive into the highlights.

Main addition: Name Tags crafting!

It finally happened! How many times have we found the perfect horse, a cute fox, or a useful villager, only to have no Name Tag at hand? We had to either drop everything and search for treasure chests or sadly say goodbye to a future pet. Now, this problem is solved.

The introduction of Name Tags crafting — without exaggeration, is one of the best improvements in recent times. It makes the game a bit fairer and more convenient, especially in the early stages of survival.

Other important changes

Besides crafting, the developers delighted us with other interesting additions.

  • Baby mobs from Spawn Eggs. Now, using a Spawn Egg on an adult mob will spawn its baby. This opens up new possibilities for farming and breeding, making the process more controlled.
  • New animations and sounds. Rabbits, Pigs, Cats, and Wolves received fresh animations and sounds. The Minecraft world feels even more alive and immersive. I especially liked the updated rabbit movements — they look much more natural now.
  • Visual and sound improvements. Texture smoothing has been added, making the visuals more pleasing. There’s now a sound when equipping a Saddle or Armor on a Nautilus underwater — a small detail, but it enhances immersion.
  • Experimental slider. A mysterious slider "for the first drop of 2026" has appeared. What it does — remains a mystery. Perhaps it’s related to future major updates. I love when developers leave such intriguing details!

What about bug fixes?

The team did an amazing job, fixing 45 bugs. I won’t list them all, but here are the ones I found most significant:

  • Textures no longer "break" when switching graphics in the menu.
  • Fixed shadow stripes and other artifacts in the "Bright Visual Effects" mode.
  • Shields with banners now display correctly in first-person view.
  • Zombies can ride other mobs again! It’s a fun mechanic, and I’m glad it’s back.
  • Zombie Horses and Zombie Nautiluses no longer burn in water, which makes sense.
  • Reduced the distance at which mobs start looking at the player. Now you can go about your tasks a bit more peacefully.
  • Fixed a bug where the speed of some hostile mobs kept increasing.
  • Resolved data loss issues when playing on Xbox in split-screen mode.
  • Fixed errors related to saves and Realms worlds.

Overall, this test version leaves a very positive impression. It’s clear that the developers are not only preparing new content but also actively working on improving existing mechanics and fixing old issues. Name Tags crafting — is simply the cherry on top!
