Minecraft 1.26.0

(full version)

Minecraft 1.26.0 (Bedrock) - Mojang developers have released a new update for Android. Although it’s not a global update with tons of new content, it’s still worth noting. In this patch, developers added some interesting features, updated mechanics, and fixed numerous bugs.

Let’s see what they’ve prepared, and I’ll share my thoughts — both positive and not so much.

Macros for commands

Let’s start with the main addition — macros. Now, in the keyboard/mouse control settings, there’s a toggle called «Drop 1 2026», which adds 10 extra keys for executing commands. Each key can be customized by entering a command that will be executed when pressed.

  • A toggle «Drop 1 2026» has been added to the keyboard/mouse settings.
  • 10 extra keys have been added, which can be customized to execute commands.
  • Each key has a text field to input the command that will be executed when pressed.
Important: Macros only work during gameplay, and combinations start with Alt + the selected key. Alt alone cannot be used.

Now there’s no need to manually type long commands — everything can be set up in advance. This is especially useful for map creators, automation enthusiasts, and those who actively use commands in the game.

Crafting name tags

Another long-awaited addition — the ability to craft name tags.

  • Name tags can now be crafted using 1 paper and 1 metal ingot (iron, copper, or gold).

Previously, they had to be found in chests or relied on luck while fishing, but now it’s much easier. On one hand, this simplifies things, as they can now be easily crafted. On the other hand, it slightly diminishes the «magical» rarity that made name tags special.

Baby mobs

  • Now, using a Spawn Egg, you can get baby mobs.
  • Models and textures for both adults and babies have been updated.
  • Rabbits received new animations, and Pigs, Cats, and Wolves — new sounds.
  • A new item — the Golden Dandelion — has been added to stop baby mobs from growing.

In my opinion, this adds more realism and charm to the game. Baby mobs look adorable, and the new sounds make interacting with mobs even more engaging.

Bug fixes

The developers have fixed 140 bugs, many of which were discovered in test versions. Here are a few examples:

  • Fixed crashes related to using the /effect @e command on a large number of entities.
  • Resolved graphical bugs that caused textures to display incorrectly.
  • Fixed animation and object display issues, such as armor no longer disappearing from stands when paused.
  • Fixed a bug where zombie horses panicked and burned in water.
  • Fixed trading bugs with farmers and other villagers, including selling suspicious stews with incorrect durations.
  • Fixed texture display issues for baby mobs like rabbits and chickens.

The Minecraft 1.26.0 update is small but useful. Macros, name tag crafting, and baby mobs — are small details that make the game more convenient and interesting. And bug fixes add stability, which is always nice.

If you haven’t updated yet, I recommend doing so as soon as possible. Mojang has once again proven that they not only add new content but also care about the game’s quality.
