Minecraft 1.21 (Beta)

Minecraft 1.21 is a new release announced by Mojang studio. In the upcoming release, the developers promise a lot of interesting content, blocks and mobs. At the moment, we know about the appearance of the Armadillo, a new dungeon – “ Challenge Room ”, as well as a useful block – Crafter, which allows you to automate the creation of items.

Structures

The release promises the appearance of a new dungeon, which is called the “Challenge Room”. What is known:

• A huge dark dungeon with many rooms, corridors and interesting challenges;
• The test room is generated randomly underground (after the deep shale), as a result of which the style of passage will change;
• You can get a lot of useful items;
• The predominant materials of the structure are copper and tuff blocks with updated functionality;
• The main boss is Breeze.

Mobs

Currently, 2 new creatures are known to appear.

Breeze

• Aggressive inhabitant of the Test Room (appears from the Spawner);
• Large supply of health - 30 units.
• Specializes in long-range wind attacks;
• A very mobile mob, with high movement speed and jumping;
• Hitting projectiles can activate various mechanisms and break up blocks.

Armadillo

Winner of user voting for a new beast in Minecraft Live 2023. Currently known:

• Neutral mob that lives in the Savannah biome;
• When danger appears, it hides in a protective shell;
• You can get Scales;
• The scales are used to craft Wolf Armor.

New set of blocks

The developers continue to expand the possibilities for creativity and construction by introducing new blocks. In the release we will be able to get acquainted with the following materials:

Copper blocks

Copper has been used by players for a long time, and now with the help of this valuable resource we will be able to create:

• Copper Hatches, Doors, Grilles;
• Copper lamp (is a light source, dims with the appearance of oxide, controlled by Redstone);
• Carved copper (crafted using Stonecutter);
• Grates allow light and air to pass through, and hostile mobs do not spawn on them.

Tuff blocks

Tuff material, like copper, is also part of the game. The developers tried to expand the variation of this stone resource by adding the following models:

• Polished tuff;
• Steps, fence, slabs;
• Carved bricks.

Test spawner

The block is an updated prototype of the Mob Spawner. Main features:

• Located in the “Test Chamber” structure.
• Summons dangerous monsters on command.
• Spawns hostile mobs according to the types of blocks that surround it.
• The amount of useful loot and enemies is calculated based on the number of raiders.
• After completion of work, it reboots (30 minutes).
• After passing, it drops valuable items.

Crafter

The long-awaited mechanism, which is an improved Workbench with an automatic crafting function. Possibilities:

• When connected to a Redstone block, the signal starts the process of creating the item.
• To work, you need to set up the supply of procurement materials (Manually, Dispenser or Funnel).
• Resources for manufacturing must be installed in slots according to the recipe.
• Can be programmed to lock certain slots to ensure feed material is installed correctly in the Crafter.

Wolf armor

Additional protection for your pet (Wolf). Properties:

• Protects the pet.
• Made from Armadillo Scale.

When can we expect an update?

According to the announcement from Mojang studio, test releases are expected in the coming weeks. The developers have already included many innovations in beta tests, including the Autoworking Bench and Copper Items. The full release of Minecraft 1.21 will take place in June 2024.
