If the campfire goes out

Imagine: the night in the forest grows darker, and the campfire you worked so hard to maintain begins to fade. The crackling of the wood grows quieter, and the shadows around you deepen. At that moment, you feel something change in the air — as if nature itself is holding its breath.

From the depths of the forest, the sound of snapping branches reaches you, and you realize the Deer-Monster is near. Its silhouette is barely visible in the darkness, but the dim light of the dying flames reveals its terrifying shape. Tall, with curved antlers, it moves slowly but deliberately, as if savoring your helplessness. Its eyes glow with a sinister red light, and it seems to see you even through the thick darkness.

When the campfire is almost out, the Deer begins to act. It doesn’t attack immediately — it circles around you, emitting a low, vibrating roar that chills you to the bone. It seems to be toying with you, testing how much longer you can endure. Each step is accompanied by the crunch of leaves, and you realize it’s getting closer.

If you don’t manage to light a torch or add wood to the fire, it will make its final move. Its movements become fast, almost lightning-quick. You hear it charge, and at that moment, all you can do is run, hoping the light of a lantern or the nearest fire source will save you. But if you hesitate for even a second, its sharp antlers and powerful limbs will leave you no chance.

This Deer — is not just a predator, it is the embodiment of fear itself. It doesn’t fear you, but it fears the light. And only the flames can keep it at bay.
