Minecraft 1.21.130.24 Beta

Minecraft 1.21.130.24 Beta - another test version for Android has been released, bringing several notable changes. The update introduces players to new mobs — the Desert Dweller and the Camel Cadaver — and also tweaks the “Chaos Steeds” mechanics and fixes a number of issues.

I must say, the arrival of new mobs really refreshed Minecraft’s familiar atmosphere — with each such update, exploring the world becomes more engaging. These creatures not only diversified the biomes but also added fun moments to survival, especially in the desert. Gameplay is now much more dynamic, and encounters with them bring excitement and surprise.

New mobs

This update adds two striking denizens of the desert: the Mummy — a skeleton variant that resists sunlight and can weaken enemies, and the Camel Cadaver — a passive undead mount that can be ridden and even tamed. These mobs don’t just increase variety; they make desert exploration far more interesting.

Mummy Skeleton

A new skeleton variant found in desert biomes.

  • Spawns at night in deserts, usually in groups of up to four.
  • Armed with a bow and shoots arrows that apply the “Weakness” effect.
  • Doesn’t take damage from sunlight.
  • May sometimes appear mounted on a camel alongside the Cadaver.

Camel Cadaver

A undead version of the regular camel.

  • Found in deserts.
  • Passive by nature.
  • Often spawns as a mount for the Cadaver or the Desert Dweller with spears.
  • Can be tamed with a rabbit’s foot.
  • Can be ridden after a saddle is equipped.
  • Breeding this mob is not possible.

Before moving on to changes in creature and item mechanics, I want to share my impressions. These improvements genuinely add interest and balance to the gameplay — mounts have become more player-friendly, and the item updates make combat and exploration much more engaging.

Creature and item changes

Developers quickly adjusted the mechanics of the following mounts: horses, zombie horses, donkeys, mules, and camels. They no longer sink when the player is underwater.

Nautilus and Zombie Nautilus

  • Fixed an issue where the death message on land after taming displayed incorrectly.
  • No longer plays splash sounds while on land.
  • Added damage and death sounds on land.
  • Dash attack cooldown is now 4 seconds.
  • Dash speed increased to 14 blocks per second.
  • Dash attack deals 4 damage.

Spear

  • Damage calculation now includes the wielder’s own damage.
  • Updated the netherite spear icon color.
  • Increased attack cooldown.
  • The “Lunge” ability now consumes less hunger: 1, 2, or 3 points depending on level (previously 4, 5, 6).
  • Using “Lunge” at any level reduces the spear’s durability by 1.
  • Adjusted item reflections with Vibrant Visuals enabled.

Zombie Horse

  • Now spawns on Ice Plains.
  • Avoids direct sunlight.
  • Fixed the dismount button behavior.
  • Added feeding sound and corrected its volume in settings.

Zombie Nautilus

  • Emits sounds while being fed.
  • Becomes aggressive if provoked.
  • Attacks nearby pufferfish.
  • Dash attack deals 3 damage.
  • With armor, does not burn in sunlight.

Bug fixes

As someone who spends a lot of time in Minecraft, I know how small bugs can spoil even the best update. Fixing these issues always noticeably improves comfort: the world stops annoying with small things and just works as it should.

This version fixed 16 bugs, including:

  • Adjusted brightness of custom block icons in the inventory.
  • Fixed issues with plant growing.
  • Restored missing music in some biomes.
  • Snowflakes no longer flicker when the player moves.
  • Resolved various UI crashes and glitches.
  • Improved fade and transparency effects when zooming with Vibrant Visuals enabled.

After testing this update, I can say the developers did a lot to improve stability. The new mobs add fresh excitement to world exploration – especially the Desert Dweller with its abilities. Fixing old bugs made the game much more pleasant; many little annoyances are gone.

On the downside – some changes clearly impact familiar mechanics: for example, the new nuances of “Lunge” or increased activity of some mobs may be confusing at first. Not all additions feel balanced (especially regarding the new mobs’ spawning and behavior), but for those who like to experiment, that’s a definite plus. If you’re used to the old mechanics — you’ll need to adapt a bit.

When installing the Beta (test) version, it is advisable to make backup copies of the worlds
