The developers have released the full version of Minecraft Bedrock Edition 26.30, and on Android it is available as version 26.30.05. The main highlight of the update is the «Cubes of Chaos» drop (Drop 2 2026). It brings a full sulfur-themed content set to the game: a new cave biome, an unusual mob, dangerous springs, and fresh music. Let’s take a look at what awaits you underground.
Sulfur Cubes: the mob that eats blocks
The star of the update is the Sulfur Cube. This mob lives in Sulfur Caves and has an incredible appetite for blocks. Feed it, and it will start changing its appearance depending on what it has eaten.
The most interesting part lies in experimentation. Feed the cube TNT and ignite it, and you will definitely remember the result (and maybe regret it). And if you give it a magma block, things turn into a real «hot potato».
Here’s what else you should know about Sulfur Cubes:
- When destroyed, the cube splits into two smaller cubes
- Small cubes can be grown by feeding them slime balls
- The cube can be easily caught in a regular bucket and moved to your base
- Different blocks make it jump, slide, and move in new ways
If you don’t feel like dealing with blocks to move the cube around, just scoop it up with a bucket and hide it in your inventory. A handy way to get yourself a new pet.
Sulfur Springs: beauty with a catch
Across the Overworld, Sulfur Springs can now be found — bright new lakes. They are easy to spot: Sulfur and Cinnabar blocks are scattered around them, and poisonous gas rises from the water.
But the real value lies deeper. Dig beneath one of these lakes, and you will end up in a Sulfur Cave full of new blocks and that very same Sulfur Cube.
Sulfur Caves: a new underground biome
Sulfur Caves are a completely new type of underground area. Here you will find shallow pools, glowing lichen, and a distinct color palette.
Inside you will find:
- Yellow Sulfur blocks
- Red Cinnabar blocks
- Sulfur spikes
- And, of course, the Sulfur Cube
Active Sulfur and bubbling springs
It is the Active Sulfur block that makes the springs so bubbly and slightly nauseating. You can create your own hot spring: place the block underwater and wait for bubble columns and clouds of poisonous gas to appear.
Just build carefully — poisonous gas causes nausea to players and nearby mobs.
Geysers: up and into the sky
Watch your step, or you might get launched! Geysers form when a magma block appears or is placed under an Active Sulfur block submerged beneath 1–4 blocks of water.
Use them in different ways: as a vertical launch pad for quick ascent or as a striking landscape feature.
Sulfur spikes: beautiful but dangerous
Sulfur spikes grow on Sulfur and Cinnabar blocks, giving the caves their recognizable look. On the ground they form stalagmites, and on the ceiling — stalactites. Stepping on them is not dangerous, unlike a sharp dripstone stalactite. But a spike falling from above can still hurt — though that happens rarely.
Two new block sets
With the update, the game received two full block sets at once:
- Sulfur — a rich yellow shade
- Cinnabar — a deep red color
Each material comes with a full set: cobblestone, bricks, stairs, and more. Now adding bright red and yellow accents to your builds is easier than ever.
New music by fingerspit
The update’s soundtrack was composed by fingerspit (Paula Ruiz). The game now includes a new music disc with the track «Bounce» — you can find it in minecarts with chests inside abandoned mineshafts right in the Sulfur Caves.
In addition, fresh tracks now play in the menu, Creative mode, and many biomes: Ebb, Home, Memories, Nightly, and Shores.
