Minecraft 26.20.4 (Bedrock) - the full version is now available on Android. How much new and unusual content did they manage to pack into this update? Just imagine: new biomes, mysterious mobs, rare building materials, and, most importantly, a decent portion of bug fixes.
Could all this be just a warm-up for bigger changes? Well, let’s break it down step by step.
Main innovations of this update
The main focus of this update is the so-called Drop 2 2026. At first glance, nothing extraordinary, but suddenly the game received new biomes, a bunch of strange mobs, and mysterious blocks... What these zones hide remains to be discovered as you play.

Sulfur Cube
And here’s the update’s favorite — the Sulfur Cube. It’s not just a mob but a real mystery for players: instead of a typical monster, you encounter a creature that not only lives in caves but also eats blocks, changing its appearance and properties depending on its diet. The whole idea is to experiment and observe what happens!

What we know about it
- Lives in Sulfur Caves.
- Eats blocks.
- Changes appearance depending on what it eats.
- Some of its features are left for players to discover.
- Introduces an element of unpredictability.
- Encourages testing which blocks affect its behavior and appearance.
- Fits well into the theme of dangerous underground zones.
- If mechanics aren’t explained properly, some players might not understand its purpose.
- There’s a risk it might be more “fun” than useful in the actual game.
- If it destroys blocks too actively, it could be annoying, especially in survival mode.
Sulfur Springs
Sulfur Springs — are quite unusual. At first glance, they’re new yellowish lakes that immediately stand out among the usual water bodies. The water is murky, sulfur and cinnabar blocks are scattered around, and suspicious gas sometimes hovers above the surface. Beautiful? Yes.
But don’t relax — inhale these vapors, and you’ll immediately experience an unpleasant effect: nausea is guaranteed, and getting out isn’t always easy. It might seem like just a spring, but the risks are plenty.

Their features
- Generate throughout the Minecraft world.
- Emit poisonous gas.
- Sulfur and cinnabar blocks can be found nearby.
- Sulfur caves are often located beneath these lakes.
- Have a unique appearance.
- Indicate the presence of rare resources nearby.
- Pose a simultaneous risk.
Potent Sulfur
Interestingly, along with this update, a Potent Sulfur block appeared in Minecraft 26.20.4. What’s it for? Ask any builder, the effects in water immediately catch attention. Throw this block — and the action begins: bubbles, foul-smelling gas... and hello, nausea! Has everyone already figured out how to use this thing in maps?
What the block does
- Creates bubbling hot springs.
Sulfur Caves
At first glance, it seems that for adventure lovers, the most enticing addition will be the Sulfur Caves. By the way, haven’t you felt that dungeons are becoming more interesting lately?

What makes Sulfur Caves special
- They have their own unique atmosphere.
- Add a new route for exploration.
- Combine resources, danger, and visual uniqueness.
Other Tiny Takeover additions
Here, many interesting and seemingly small things were added, but — how else in the world of Minecraft! Meet:
- Updated mob babies (watching them is now a separate pleasure, by the way).
- Golden dandelions, to keep your favorite mob as a baby forever — who wouldn’t need that?.
- Finally, you can craft name tags — not just by special luck, but simply take and name your pet as you wish.
- A new unusual tool for the music block — trumpet; has anyone already managed to play something meaningful on it?

Fixed bugs
Interestingly, besides new features in Minecraft 26.20.4, the developers managed to fix as many as 19 bugs. Sometimes these moments are more pleasing than new blocks — admit it, it’s nice when something in the game just starts working properly. Maybe stability doesn’t look impressive in screenshots, but in terms of experience, it’s really another level.
What was fixed
- Disappearance of bows and crossbows with texture streaming enabled.
- Text in the feedback pop-up window.
- Missing subtitles for baby mobs.
- Leaf decay.
- Issue where bone meal on moss replaced adjacent blocks.
- Execution of the /loot command.
- Impulse transmission between minecarts.
- Delay and display of fall damage.
- Lighting of slime jump animation in Vibrant Visuals mode.
- Display of cobwebs when zooming the camera.
- Ravager behavior when destroying leaves and crops.
- Crashes when returning from the Realms subscription selection screen.
- A number of other bugs and issues.

Additionally — as many as 42 technical changes, surprisingly, almost all for add-ons and testing. Who benefits from this? But map and mod developers, I’m sure, breathed a sigh of relief.
For the average player — even for many experienced Minecraft players — this sounds quiet and boring. But in practice, such fixes turn out to be much more significant than everyone usually thinks.
