![Night’s riddle: can the Screecher see you? In Minecraft]()
Hey everyone! Today I’m sharing my, shall we say, unforgettable experiment with one of Minecraft’s craftiest mobs — the Screecher. This question really wouldn’t let me rest: if I drink an invisibility potion, will I become a ghost to the Screecher, or will this “master of detection” still sniff me out? Probably everyone who’s spent a night in the Pale Garden has wondered the same!
Mission prep: assassin or regular gatherer?
My first thought: “Grab the potion, take off the armor, sneak up, and the Screecher won’t even notice me!” It was like spy-movie music started playing in my head. Just in case, shield in hand, and in the inventory — a stack of torches (old habits don’t fail). Night, twilight — the Pale Garden looks like Herobrine himself left the set here. Creepy? Oh yes!

The moment of truth… or “that was something else!”
I down the invisibility potion in one go, a spark on my face and hype in my heart. I creep up to the Screecher so quietly I’m surprised I didn’t wake every skeleton nearby. But then… wham! Those glowing eyes lock onto me instantly and, honestly, I wanted to mute the sound and pretend it was a bug. It felt like cheating on an exam and catching the teacher’s gaze straight into your soul.

The Screecher didn’t fuss: a nasty creak rang out, and it bolted at me so fast I almost dropped my mouse. Good thing I had the shield up — it saved me! In that moment I realized all my invisibility hopes crashed like a falling creeper. I felt like an invisible assassin, but to the Screecher I was as obvious as the Pillar of Despair at spawn.

Why so? My guesses and “spoilers”
Either the Screecher in the Pale Garden has super-scent, or a built-in Tuesday radar. The whole time I hid and sneaked, it reacted like it sensed me regardless of invisibility. Maybe it was my footsteps, or the shield in hand (nerves make you press everything), or — just the mob’s mechanics. Either way, this guy won’t be fooled by something so simple.
Invisibility vs. Screecher: pros and cons
Pros:
- Small mobs and many garden hazards really stop noticing you while the potion lasts.
- You can slip past pesky skeletons unnoticed or quickly scout the garden’s layout.
- The first feeling — you’re a hero-explorer! Great for atmosphere.
Cons:
- The Screecher completely ignores invisibility! Its eyes see everything; it aggroes and chases without hesitation.
- Can create a false sense of safety — reality hits hard, especially when a mob shoves you from around a corner.
- Resource loss — you waste a potion for zero payoff.
- Extra stress: you think you’re safe, and end up with an adrenaline spike worse than a creeper attack.
My verdict: loads of emotion, zero utility
My take, friends: Screecher and invisibility don’t mix. This isn’t the lifehack that wins; rather the opposite — an excuse to train reflexes and steel your nerves. Honestly, after that night in the Pale Garden I still can’t calmly look at glowing eyes, even if they’re on a rug…
I suggest not relying on potions. Bring more torches, listen closely, and keep your distance. And if you want to run your own test — pack not only potions but a good mood!
Good luck, adventurers! Would you try this experiment, or have you found a way to outsmart the Screecher? Share your stories — I’d really love to read them!
