Hey everyone! Your irrepressible experimenter here, who can’t walk past a weird idea. After eyeblooms literally wowed me with their night show in the Overworld, one question popped up instantly: what if I plant them in the Nether or the End? Honestly, first thought — maybe something magical will happen. Because, let’s admit it, Minecraft always throws surprises!

Show prep: packing a flower suitcase

I armed myself with a couple of eyeblooms like a true gardener‑researcher and, with this green crew, set out to test the limits of their floral temperament. First stop — the Nether. It’s oven‑hot, everything glows and breathes hellfire. But I won’t quit: I plant my eyeblooms right between lava and basalt, switch to spectator mode, and wait. And… they don’t even think of opening their “pupils.” They stand there stubbornly closed, as if hinting: “Why did you drag us here? This is so not our vibe!”

The End — hope dies last

Alright, I thought, maybe Endermen will cheer them up? I jump into the portal, grab the flowers, and plant them on one of the End’s floating platforms. A thought flashes: “Here comes the miracle.” But no, nothing happens: the eyeblooms freeze as boring buds, and around — only void and silent Endermen. Off the record: at that point I even started talking to the plants — anything for content!

Personal take: a bit disappointing

Honestly, I even felt bad for the eyeblooms! If they open at night in the Overworld, why not treat us to some magic in other dimensions? But alas, these flowers are true conservatives — only Overworld nights suit them. On the plus side, that adds charm: some things can’t be bent by tricks or lifehacks. Seriously, they feel alive!

Pros and cons of this behavior

Pros:

  • They create an exclusive atmosphere only in the Overworld, making eyebloom gardens truly unique.
  • Perfect for magical, romantic night builds, where each open flower is a mini feast for the eyes.
  • Thanks to their “pickiness,” they fit great in themed builds like moon gardens and secret trails.

Cons:

  • In other dimensions (Nether and End) the flowers stay closed — no magic happens.
  • You can’t make mystical paths or bases with active eyeblooms outside the Overworld.
  • Experiment lovers might be disappointed — no weird glitches or easter eggs spotted (for now!).

Experiment verdict: your take matters!

All in all, my big experiment showed: eyeblooms, for now, stay loyal only to Overworld nights. And while that’s a limitation, I think these details are what make Minecraft atmospheric and alive. But if any of you managed to make these plants’ “eyes” open where they shouldn’t — write in, fast! I’ll run a new experiment and share the results.

Share your observations, screenshots, myths, and tips in the comments — happy to discuss! Minecraft is about creativity and endless discoveries, even when flowers stubbornly “sleep” in foreign worlds.
