Hello, Minecraft crew! Honestly, if someone had told me earlier that regular spiders would become my best friends — I would never have believed it. But after this build, I completely changed my perspective on life in the cubic world. The first thought in my head when I found a spawner was: "This is it! Either a new idea or I almost exploded with excitement!" So here’s my experience — I hope it saves you some nerves and time.

"Everything in Its Place": What We’ll Need

To avoid running to the chest a hundred times, here’s my checklist (check it — don’t forget anything!):

  • Spider spawner (without it, sorry, no chance!)
  • 32 building blocks of any kind (better to have extra, just in case…)
  • 18 slabs
  • 3 signs (to troll spiders and for convenience)
  • 3 iron trapdoors (like in the best mines)
  • 3 fences
  • 3 hoppers
  • 3 chests (lots of loot — lots of chests!)
  • 5 wooden fence blocks (a little coziness doesn’t hurt)
  • 2 buckets of water (no build is complete without it!)

The Spider Factory of Your Dreams in Minecraft

"Technical Matters": Getting Started with Preparation

Found a spawner? Congratulations! That’s already a celebration. The main thing — don’t set off fireworks of joy too early. Torches are your best friends: light up everything around. Now grab a serious pickaxe and expand the room to 9x9, with 5 blocks of height above the spawner and 3 below. The key here is not to cut corners, you’ll thank me later!

"Water Quest": Flooding It Right

Digging for a long time — that’s already a sport. When you think it’s all done, it’s time for water! Pour it into two opposite corners, and if it doesn’t flow as it should — remove a couple of blocks in the center, let it stream into the channel. Game geometry is quite the quest, but after a few tries — you’ll be a water wizard!

"Spider Express": Building the Tunnel

The tunnel, my personal favorite. Length of 6 blocks, width of 3, height of 2. Don’t forget the three signs at the end, or the water flow will turn your build into a giant water park! Attach the spawner to the ceiling with a fence — just for aesthetics and style!

"Torture Chamber… for Spiders": Welcoming Guests

The final touch — a 3x3 block pit at the tunnel’s exit. At the bottom, place chests, connected to hoppers so all the useful stuff collects automatically. Seal the walls tightly! And cover it with slabs and cobblestone. Place the trapdoors so the spiders can’t escape — and it’s easy for us to hit them (honestly, it’s so satisfying).

"The Moment of Truth": Everything’s Ready

Remove the torches, step back… and watch closely as your mini factory for string and experience kicks into action! The first time is truly breathtaking, I won’t lie: you feel like a Minecraft genius.

Pros and Cons of a Spider Farm

Pros:

  • Infinite string and lots of experience (seriously, the stockpile is huge!)
  • Time-saving — no more running through caves
  • Automation, less routine, more fun
  • Great for upgrading swords and testing enchantments

Cons:

  • Takes time and effort to build (your hands will feel it later!)
  • Cave spiders are poisonous — bring a bucket of milk
  • You need to clear the area and be cautious at every step
  • The farm only works if you’re nearby

My Conclusion and a Few Personal Words

Honestly, this project is my pride, even though at first it seemed "terrifying" (a spider joke, sorry). Yes, there are challenges, but the satisfaction of the result is worth it. So, buddy, don’t hesitate: build, experiment, and don’t forget to brag about your farms! Good luck — and may the spiders only bring benefits!
