![Minecraft 26.60]()
Minecraft 26.60.04 (Badrock) β the developers have released the full version of the game on Android. If you were expecting version 26.60 to be just "another bugfix patch" β think again.
Mojang has rolled out an update that literally changes the rules of the game for Nintendo Switch 2 owners, brings experimental winter content, and fixes over 600 bugs. Some of them are the very bugs you may have been complaining about for years. Breaking it down in order.

Ice Caves
Ice Caves β a new biome that generates beneath cold Overworld biomes. It looks exactly as it should: packed ice, calcite, icicles on the ceiling, snowy patches. Ores appear in pockets of stone and deepslate, but there's no dirt, granite, or glow lichen here at all. Besides regular cave mobs, Frostbites and frozen zombies spawn here.

The biome turned out atmospheric, but there's a catch: it's an experimental feature. So in regular survival without the toggle enabled at world creation, you simply won't encounter it. A shame? A little. But for testing β fine.
Ice Crystals
Ice Crystals β the only light source in these caves. They look like amethyst clusters, glow, and can be placed in any direction. They break if the supporting block is removed. And yes, there's a known bug: the crystals are currently smaller than intended.

Icicles β a separate headache. Here are their key features:
- Grow under packed ice blocks.
- Can reach up to 5 blocks in height.
- Fall if the light level is high enough.
- A falling icicle deals damage and extra damage to anyone it lands on.
- Grow only in darkness and outside the Nether.
- Break when exposed to light.
Frostbite
Frostbite β a debuff that makes the player shiver, reduces jump height, and deals damage over time. Leather armor doesn't remove the effect but prevents you from "freezing" completely, as in powder snow. Mobs vulnerable to freezing take 5x more damage while the effect is active. Potions of Frostbite are brewed from ice balls, and freezing arrows are made by dipping arrows into a cauldron with this potion.

This is no longer just "another debuff." In PvP and in tough caves it works as a full-fledged combat mechanic. A shame that leather armor is the only thing that helps at all. You can't fully protect yourself.
Frozen Zombie
Frostbite β one of the most interesting mobs in recent times. The combination of melee and ranged combat makes it more dangerous than a regular zombie, and the transformation mechanic in powder snow adds real threat to snowy biomes.

Here's what it can do:
- Shoots ice balls at range.
- Applies Frostbite in melee combat.
- Switches between ranged and melee depending on distance and whether it has ice balls.
- Transforms back into a regular zombie after spending too long underwater.
- Drops rotten flesh and ice balls.
- Can stand on powder snow.
- Immune to Frostbite and isn't slowed by the effect.
Separate detail: regular zombies and husks now also transform into Frostbite if they stand in powder snow.
Ice Ball
The ice ball deals 4 damage (reduced depending on flight speed), applies slight knockback, and breaks on impact with a target or block.

Major Fixes

Alongside the winter drop, 26.60 includes over 600 fixes. Here are the ones that actually affect gameplay:
- Villagers no longer freeze if you open your inventory and interact with them at the same time.
- Fixed lag when first opening a chest in an abandoned camp.
- A weak but long potion effect now correctly returns after a strong but short effect of the same type ends.
- Arrows without effects no longer bounce off entities if damage was fully absorbed.
- Shulkers can now be pushed by pistons β as in Java Edition.
- The Mace with Wind Burst no longer launches the player when hitting a boat, minecart, or bed.
- Trapdoors now have "snappable placement": hold the button and the trapdoor places in one direction until you release.
- The player no longer stops sneaking in water.
- Mushrooms can be placed on any block with a solid top face regardless of light level (they'll still only grow at light below 13).
- Leather clothing layers from the Character Creator no longer clip through armor.
- Beds and signs no longer "flicker" with colored block lighting.
- Axolotl's Regeneration potion no longer stacks infinitely.
- Item duplication via full inventory and picked-up stacks is patched.
- Hoppers and other containers no longer lose items when replaced via /fill or /setblock.
- Sheep no longer get stuck in the grass-eating animation.
- The mouse cursor no longer jumps sharply when scrolling.
- Wool and concrete sounds on note blocks are now correct.
- Drowned now look closer to Java Edition, and helmets are visible on them.
- Bonus chests now generate correctly in Water World and Snowy Kingdom flat worlds.
