Hey there, curious minecrafters! Sometimes you wake up thinking — what if… So, my latest in-game obsession is about Bogged and their mysterious mushrooms. First thought: “What if you can shear the mushrooms and then farm them forever?” I was already picturing an automatic farm and chests full of free little mushrooms… Now that’s next level, that’s business! But, as always in Minecraft, reality is a bit different from rosy dreams.

The mushroom question that wouldn’t let me rest in Minecraft

Minecraft-style experiment: pit, mushrooms, and shears

I approached the experiment very seriously… well, as seriously as you can while half-asleep. First I had to sweat it out luring a few Bogged into a pit. Don’t try without a helmet — these guys don’t like leaving their swamp! Picture it: night, torches, you chasing mobs with arrows in hand, persuading them to jump into the hole. Quite the spectacle!

Once my new test subjects were safely at the bottom, I climbed down with shears, cautious and excited. You walk up like a master stylist, fists clenched, hoping they’re not into bows. The mushrooms come off easily, and there’s a tiny hit of satisfaction — there, first harvest done!

The mushroom watch begins

The dullest and painfully funny part — watching what happens next. I set up a little “lookout post” nearby, snacked on apples, and counted in-game days.

  • Day 1: Not a single little mushroom shows up! The Bogged heads shine like new. Trying not to lose heart.
  • Day 2: Still nothing. I even wondered if I needed a growth potion or to wait for a storm? But no.
  • Days 3–4: Clear as day. Mushrooms don’t come back at all, not a hint! Bald, as if that’s how it’s meant to be. My hopes fell off along with the mushrooms…

My take and a bit of emotion

Honestly, I expected more of a show. I truly believed they’d regrow — like their “thing” is eternal respawn. But nope — bummer! Turns out there’s no second chance. So the automatic mushroom farm from Bogged is a no-go; laziness gets no prize this time. Slightly disappointed, but the adventure was worth it!

Still, the experience was cool — the waiting vibe, watching the mobs, the emotions! I even felt a bit for those bald poor souls. Who’d think a simple experiment could be so gripping!

Pros and cons of this madness

Pros:

  • I got the answer and stopped daydreaming.
  • You can get a one-time mushroom drop from each new Bogged.
  • Running the experiment is fun and thrilling — you’ll have memories for sure!

Cons:

  • Mushrooms don’t regrow — no sustainable farm.
  • If you just want soup mushrooms — it’s quicker to collect them in meadows or the dark forest.
  • Catching a Bogged and setting up a safe pit takes plenty of time and resources.

Results and your stories

My experiment showed: once you shear the mushrooms — that’s it, they won’t reappear on the Bogged. No second round for at least 3–4 in-game days. If you plan to repeat it — don’t expect infinite harvests.

How about your bald swamp buddies? Did anyone see mushrooms grow back after shearing? Any weird bugs or glitches? Share your stories and thoughts in the comments — would love to discuss and have a laugh together!
