Hello, my restless explorers! Sometimes you sit calmly and a thought pops up: “What if I jump with a pig, give it Slow Falling, give myself Levitation, and see what happens?” Honestly, I expected at least a fireworks show of effects or some crazy physics. Reality was far less spectacular.

When Levitation failed: how I crashed with a pig in Minecraft

Preparing for the jump

I set the scene high up, the pig standing there resigned, me — full of expectations. All the commands ready, effects set clearly: Slow Falling for the pig, Levitation for me. I thought: now I’ll be amazed!

The jump… and complete disappointment

I jump, wait for magic… and — nothing. Absolutely nothing! No effects visible, Levitation doesn’t lift me, the pig doesn’t glide. We just drop like ordinary weights, no different from classic free fall. The ground greets us equally harshly: a dull thud — and hello, respawn!

Repeated — and failed again

I don’t give up: a couple more tries, different command variations, rearranged blocks… but same story — effects never show during the fall. Everything gets canceled, not even a chance to be saved.

Pros and cons of the experiment:

Pros:

  • Laughed at my own naivety and how fast dreams shatter (literally);
  • Tried it first-hand — now I can warn others with confidence!

Cons:

  • Slow Falling and Levitation simply don’t trigger in this kind of jump;
  • In terms of utility — absolute zero; just a waste of time (and a pig);
  • Useless both in Survival and as an interesting spectacle.

My honest verdict: if you’re looking for an unusual way to land — this experiment isn’t for you. Better keep your items (and the pig) and try something else. Have you tried anything similar?
