Minecraft 26.31.01

(full version)

Minecraft 26.31.01 (Bedrock) - Well, friends, the wait is over: Mojang has rolled out the full version on Android. As usual, it’s being released gradually — as each platform approves the build.

Now let’s go through what exactly was fixed, point by point. And, by tradition, I’ll add my own brief take to each item.

User Interface

  • Fixed an issue where players couldn’t join events when the «Screen Animations» option was disabled — the game would hard-freeze on the loading screen.

This one was a real pain point. How many people turned off animations for better performance, then had no idea why they were getting stuck in endless loading? Finally fixed. Though I still can’t shake the thought: how did a bug like this even make it to release? Disabling animations is a basic setting, and clearly thousands of players use it.

Gameplay

  • Fixed an identifier conflict when adding guests in split-screen mode on Nintendo Switch — previously, multiple guests could be connected at the same time.

Honestly? It sounds minor, but for people playing together on one Switch, this is a real lifesaver. Shared screen is half the magic of Minecraft with friends. So that’s a solid plus. Though for us mobile players, this fix mostly passes by — it doesn’t affect us directly.

Blocks

  • Fixed an issue where projectiles fired from an upward-facing dispenser would not launch into the air.

Now this is interesting for redstone fans and people who love clever mechanisms. An upward-facing dispenser is genuinely useful, especially in automatic farms and traps. It’s nice to see small details like this aren’t being ignored. Though, to be honest, I hadn’t even noticed this bug until they wrote about it. Apparently I’m not the only one building without upward-facing dispensers.

Networking

  • Fixed an issue that caused slower connection to servers.

Now this is actually useful for everyone. Lag when joining a server is insanely annoying — you just stand there waiting, wondering whether you’ll connect or not. If they really fixed it, hats off. But the description is so vague that I want to test it myself. «Slower connection» is a pretty broad term, so we’ll see how it works in practice.

Performance and Stability

  • Fixed several crashes that could occur during gameplay.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash in the main menu on Switch.

A classic patch-note line — «fixed several crashes.» Good that they’re fixing them, but some specifics would be nice. Which crashes exactly? Under what actions? Without details, it sounds like «we improved something, trust us.» And crashing in the main menu on Switch is on another level entirely. How do you crash before the game has even started? Good that they sorted it out, but the questions remain.

Overall, this is a solid patch, even if it comes without much fanfare. Some of the fixes are genuinely important — especially the animation issue and server connection problems. But I still can’t shake the feeling that half of these bugs should never have made it into release in the first place. And of course, the lack of a proper changelog is frustrating — we’re left piecing the information together bit by bit.

Have you noticed these fixes on your end yet? Share in the comments whether anything was personally fixed for you. And don’t forget to send bug reports — without feedback from all of us, the game won’t get any better.
