Minecraft 26.31.01

(full version)

Minecraft 26.31.01 (Bedrock) — Well, friends, it’s finally here: Mojang have rolled out the full Android version. As usual, the release is gradual, going live platform by platform as approvals come through.

Now let’s go through what exactly was fixed. And, as always, I’ll add my quick thoughts on each point.

User Interface

  • Fixed an issue where players couldn’t join events if the Screen Animations option was turned off — the game would freeze on the loading screen.

This one was a real pain point. So many people disabled animations for better performance and then had no idea why they were stuck in endless loading. Glad it’s finally fixed. Still, one question remains: how did a bug like this make it to release at all? Disabling animations is a basic setting, and clearly thousands of players use it.

Gameplay

  • Fixed an ID conflict when adding guests in split-screen mode on Nintendo Switch — previously, multiple guests could be connected at the same time.

Honestly? Sounds minor, but for people playing together on one Switch, this is a real lifesaver. Shared screen is half the magic of Minecraft with friends. So yes, definite thumbs up. Though for us mobile players, this fix doesn’t really affect anything directly.

Blocks

  • Fixed an issue where projectiles fired from an upward-facing dispenser would not launch into the air.

Now this is more interesting for redstone fans and anyone into clever contraptions. An upward-facing dispenser is genuinely useful, especially in automated farms and traps. Nice to see small issues like this aren’t being ignored. Though I’ll be honest: I hadn’t even noticed this bug until they mentioned it. Looks like I’m not the only one building without upward dispensers.

Networking

  • Fixed an issue that caused slower server connections.

This one is actually useful for everyone. Lag when joining a server is incredibly annoying — you just stand there waiting, wondering if it’ll connect or not. If they really fixed it, hats off. But the wording is so vague that I’d rather test it myself. “Slower connections” can mean a lot of things, so we’ll see how it performs in practice.

Performance and Stability

  • Fixed several crashes that could occur during gameplay.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash in the main menu on Switch.

A classic patch note line: “fixed several crashes.” Good that they’re fixing them, but some specifics would be nice. Which crashes exactly? Under what conditions? Without details, it sounds like “we improved something, trust us.” And crashing in the main menu on Switch is just wild. How does a game crash before you even start playing? Good that they sorted it out, but the questions are still there.

Overall, this is a solid patch, even if it’s not exactly flashy. Some of these fixes really do matter — especially the animation issue and server connection problems. But I still can’t shake the feeling that half of these bugs never should have made it into release in the first place. And of course, the lack of a proper changelog is frustrating — we’re left piecing the details together bit by bit.

Have you noticed any of these fixes on your end yet? Let us know in the comments if anything was actually fixed for you. And don’t forget to send bug reports — without community feedback, the game isn’t going to improve on its own.
