Today I’ve got a brutally honest and, frankly, very strange experiment from the world of Minecraft. If you follow my adventures, you already know I’m obsessed with the Happy Ghast in the beta. But after all those flights, one bold question kept chasing me: what if I could use this flying giant as a… sky base? Weird? Yes, but Minecraft should never be boring!

A DIY floating island?

First thought: why not see if the Ghast can hold someone other than players? What if I put a cow or even a sheep on it? Can it stay still, or will everything go sideways as usual? In short, too good an idea not to try!

I picked a nice spot in the open world — forget those trees, I don’t want to see a ghast “face” in the bark again. Laid a few blocks, prepped a platform, and of course fetched the coveted dried block (every creative-world owner gets me). Timer on, inspired like a lab professor: “Today we write scientific history!”

Cow vs Happy Ghast: who wins?

Then the real fun began. I chose the Cow to start with, goofy and always underfoot. Led her to the Ghast, gently nudged her down — and… the show began! In that moment, honestly, everything tightens inside: what if it somehow works? But — surprise! The Ghast couldn’t care less who’s on its back. It keeps swaying, drifting in the air, as if it doesn’t notice it’s become an impromptu stage for bovine acrobatics.

The cow sometimes balances, sometimes tries to cling with her hooves, then quickly slides off and finally hits the ground with the most offended look. I’m crying with laughter! It was something else, pure circus. These are the moments I love Minecraft for: you think you’re testing seriously, and it turns into a fireworks show of fun!

My verdict: freedom above all!

Here’s my honest take: the Happy Ghast isn’t meant to be anyone’s platform or sky anchor. It’s an irredeemable adventurer, a perpetual traveler of the airways. Frankly, I like that — why stand still when you can glide and amaze? At some point I thought: you can’t tame freedom. And if you ever tried to turn this mob into a parking spot in the sky — congrats, you’re as crazy an explorer as I am!

How did you experiment?

So that’s how my grand plan to build a floating cottage on a ghast crashed into the hard reality of Minecraft physics and the ghast’s character. But it’s been a while since I laughed and marveled this much!

What experiments did you run? Did you manage to tame freedom, or do mobs just live their own lives? Share your stories and ideas in the comments; I’m genuinely curious how far your wild Minecraft fantasies have taken you!
