Pig, mace, and a leap of faith in Minecraft

Hey everyone! Sometimes Minecraft pushes you into hair-raising experiments. That day I had one thought: “What if — attention — I build a tower of blocks, saddle a pig, grab a mace, and jump from up there straight onto a mob?” Sounds epic, right? Honestly, my first thought was: either a spectacular win or ten years of self-mockery.
Prep: partner Porky and the tower of fate
Meet my battle buddy — a pig named Porky. This time we went all in: built a solid block tower (yes, a skyscraper for science!), packed a carrot on a stick and a freshly enchanted mace. Below — our test subject, nameless but with the grand mission of suffering for truth. To be honest, up top my heart pounded like a redstone comparator at max.
Leap of faith: only the stars are higher!
Sitting with Porky atop the tower, staring at the target below, it feels like a parachute jump — except your parachute is a mace and your pilot is a pig that didn’t sign up for this. Deep breath, mouse tug, and go! While falling, one thought spun around: “Just — don’t miss!”
Moment of truth: a hit or just a hard lesson?
Near the ground, I swung the mace, aimed and… BAM! Hit the subject! Fall damage is truly impressive: the target dropped instantly, no questions asked. But then came a full surprise — the mechanics didn’t play nice: despite the clean hit, Porky and I heard that final crunch and… hello respawn screen! Both of us died to fall damage, even though the mob got thoroughly splattered. Quite something — I expected anything, but not a direct flight to the respawn menu. A Minecraft lesson: not every genius experiment ends without a bill.
Useful notes and tips for daredevils
- Landing a mace hit while riding a pig is a quest in itself, and the ending can be very unexpected.
- Build the tower with as many blocks as possible — to gauge how epic your defeat will be.
- The mace broke halfway down, so “Unbreaking” and “Mending” are vital… at least until you explode alongside the pig.
- Always have a plan B — at minimum a good respawn point near the scene of the tragedy.
My takeaway: laughs, tears, and respect for Porky
The tower–pig–mace experiment was a blast, even if it sent us both to virtual clouds. But what a rush! Now I can say for sure: the mace is strong, but Minecraft’s laws still rule. Don’t fear your crazy ideas, just stock up on beds and a healthy sense of humor — an experimenter can’t live without them!
Had any failures this fun? Share them — maybe together we’ll find a new way to rocket stylishly into respawn!
